Viña Albali Reserva Selección Privada

Origin: The grapes for this wine were selected from the best locations in the estate. At this point the grapes were optimally aged. This intense, hand-picked wine was produced for the first time in 2001

Variety: 100% Tempranillo

Wine preparation: After the harvest, the fermentation on the skin process was longer than usual in order to emphasise the structure and great depth of this wine. The aim here was also to prepare the wine for a long ageing process. In all, the wine spent six years being finished - some of this time in American oak and, to round it off, it was left to rest in the bottle for a while before being sold.

Tasting notes: A bright, intensive ruby red in the glass with terracotta coloured reflexes; in the nose it proves complex and elegant, with spicy aromas and a hint of leather through its finish, as well as lovely ripe fruit.  At the palate it presents soft, pleasant tannins, it is balanced, rounded and expressive.

Recommendation: As an accompaniment with any type of meat, stews and mature cheeses.  This wine is ideally decanted before being enjoyed, and served at a temperature of 18° - 20° C. As it has a strong tannin framework, it has excellent storage potential.
